Jawa Timur Province Economy Quarter II-2020 Contracted 5.90 Percent

Abstraction

• The economy of Jawa Timur in Quarter II-2020 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at current prices reached IDR 551.31 trillion, while GDP at constant prices reached IDR 386.36 trillion.
• The economy of Jawa Timur Quarter II-2020 compared to Quarter II-2019 (y-on-y) contracted 5.90 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Information and Communication Business Field grew 10.39 percent. Conversely, the highest contraction occurred in Other Services Business Field at 34.54 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest contraction was in the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component of 7.55 percent; Household Consumption Expenditure 4.79 percent and LNPRT Consumption Expenditure 3.45 percent.
• On a q-to-q basis, the economy of Jawa Timur in Quarter II-2020 contracted 5.45 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields which grew 27.26 percent. Meanwhile, the highest contraction occurred in Other Services Business Field at 35.40 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component was 27.90 percent. Meanwhile, other components contracted, Foreign Exports 8.16 percent, Gross Fixed Capital Formation of 6.71 percent and Household Consumption Expenditures 4.82 percent.
• The economy of Jawa Timur until Quarter II-2020 (c-to-c) contracted 1.51 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Information and Communication Business Field grew by 10.09 percent. Meanwhile, the highest contraction occurred in Other Services Business Field at 15.26 percent. While in terms of expenditure the components that grew were the Government Expenditure Component of 1.56 percent, and Foreign Exports were 2.00 percent. Meanwhile, other components are contracted.
